In my opinion, those two are different. Ideology is like a foundation in our society because it forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy. On the other hand, Merriam - Webster Dictionary defines stereotype as a standardized mental picture that is held in common by members of a group and that represents an oversimplified opinion, prejudiced attitude, or uncritical judgment.
